| Q: | What types of side effects might I get from the vaccines? |
| A: | Most of the vaccines we administer have mild if any side effects, usually a little soreness in the arm of the injection and a low grade fever. You will be advised of any other side effects specific to the vaccines you have received. It is very important that you tell us about any allergies you have, as some allergies may predispose you to side effects from the vaccines. For more information, please refer to the "Vaccine Information" section of our web site. |

| Q: | Should I get Yellow Fever vaccine if I am taking medications that suppress my immune system? |
| A: | If you are traveling to an area where yellow fever is endemic, you should be offered yellow fever vaccine. Since it is a live virus vaccine, there are certain persons who should not receive it, generally people with weakened immune systems or those who are on medications that make them more susceptible to infection. Your travel health professional at our center will review the risks and benefits of this vaccine with you at your visit. More information is available on the "Vaccine Information" and "Resource Center" tabs on our home page. |
