Avian Influenza (bird flu)

Avian influenza has been dominating the news recently.  The CDC is not currently advising against travel to any countries where avian influenza is present.  Proper precautions are advised, such as avoiding live poultry in countries where the virus is present.  At the present time, the avian influenza virus has not developed the ablity to be transmitted effectively from person to person; therefore the imminent threat of a pandemic caused by this virus is low.  For more information, please visit this site: http://www.cdc.gov/travel/other/avian_influenza_se_asia_2005.htm
